Extent of adoption of recommended cultivation practices of rice (Oryza sativa) in the state of Nagaland

Nagaland is a small state in the north-eastern part of India where majority population depends on agriculture serving as backbone its economy. Cereals occupies more than two-third total cultivable area rice, maize and millet being major variants cultivated. Two methods cultivation are mainly practiced namely, jhum (shifting cultivation) terrace cultivation, which jointly makes about 86 percent area. In recent years, high surge coupled with demand food grains seen great concern for global security. Therefore, there ascends need sustainable agricultural growth achieving security can only be unraveled by putting into practice modern innovative practices long run. A study was carried out six selected districts sample size 300 respondents to find extent adoption recommended rice.
